Former NBA center Olden Polynice believes the market for LeBron James isn’t nearly as strong as Rich Paul says and many of his fans think.
Appearing on Byron Scott’s Fast Break, Polynice argued that James and longtime agent Rich Paul are “scrambling” behind the scenes to find the four-time NBA champion his next destination, claiming teams aren’t aggressively pursuing the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
“They’re scrambling right now. Teams are not calling,” Polynice said. “They’re trying to see if they can get him on the cheap.”
The comments come as LeBron remains one of the biggest storylines of the NBA offseason. Despite constant speculation linking him to several contenders, no deal has materialized, fueling endless debate about where he’ll play next.
While reports indicate Rich Paul has remained in contact with teams regarding LeBron’s future, Polynice believes the lack of urgency around the league speaks volumes.
Whether Polynice’s comments accurately reflect the situation or simply represent his personal opinion, they’ve already generated significant discussion online. Some fans believe LeBron is taking his time before making a decision, while others think age, salary, and roster construction have made teams more cautious than in previous years.
Regardless of where LeBron ultimately lands, his free agency remains one of the NBA’s biggest ongoing stories, and every new comment from former players or league insiders continues to fuel speculation.
